1/20/11 Email

posted Jan 21, 2011, 9:15 AM by Annandale Swim and Dive
Hi Everyone - it's hard to believe, but tomorrow night is our last dual meet of the season. It is at Lee District pool with a start time of 6pm.  Timers, please be at the pool by 5:10 (unless you have a senior).
Now, I know we have all heard about some possible weather issues and if there is a cancellation of the meet, it will NOT be made up.
According to Patrick Full, athletic director at Oakton,  "If activities are cancelled on Friday January 20th than there will not be a make-up meet and ... district entries will have to be completed using the 6 meets that have already taken place."
So let's hope this does not happen!
OK - so presuming that everything goes according to plan…Swimmers, Divers, Managers report to Jock Lobby @ 4:15pm.  Bus will leave at 4:30.
Parents of Seniors please get to the pool by 4:45pm.  We are going to try to start Senior Night as close to 5pm as possible.
I sent out the bio sheets yesterday.
Please note:  **If your student would like to add any swim/dive accomplishments, such as breaking records, going to states, etc. Please feel free to let them add that to their sheets.
My timers are:  Marty Smith, Ginny Garney, Barb Koczyk, Rose Bouchard, Hill Fitzgerel, Lucia Tyrrell, Jon Lash, Susan Hertzler, David Oliver, Terry Boyd, Michele Bergen.
My assistant head timer is Leonard Wolfenstein.
Please let me know if you are unable to time!
Mark your calendars,  next Thursday, Jan. 27th - there will be an entire swim/dive team pasta dinner.  I will be sending out the details by Monday, along with a sign up sheet for pasta dishes, salads, bread, drinks and desserts.  We are going to need at least 10 - 12 main pasta dishes, such as baked ziti, mac & cheese, etc.
Our divers will have their district meet on Friday morning and the swimmers on Friday and Saturday night.
Lastly - I will be sending out an email tomorrow requesting volunteers for the District meet, which is next Friday, Jan. 28 and Saturday, Jan. 29.  If your student is going to swim in the district meet, please let me know if you are available to volunteer and what position you would be interested in.  For example, timer, tables, marshall, clerk of course, etc.
Whew!   I think that is all for now.  Fingers crossed we will have this meet tomorrow night!
